Texas state flagThe annual Dorothy Franey Langkop Golf Classic was created in memory of the 1932 Speed Skating Olympian, to financially aid our athletes training to represent the U.S.A. in the Paralympic Games.

Olympian Dorothy Langkop

Our tournament was first established as a memorial to Dorothy Franey Langkop, a pioneer in women’s sports who embodied the Olympic spirit.

In 1932, she helped introduce women’s speed skating as a demonstration sport at the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, N.Y.
